X-WR-CALDESC:A two day training seminar aimed at people with disabilities\,
  family members and concerned citizens is set for March 15th and 16th. The
  Nebraska Statewide Disability Leadership Training Seminar Series will be 
 held at the Norfolk Public Library. The training will be from 8a.m. to 5p.
 m. both days. \n\n'In order to create successful opportunities for people 
 with disabilities in our communities\, we need informed stakeholders\,' sa
 id project director Mark Smith\, assistant professor at the Munroe-Meyer I
 nstitute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. 'This seminar promo
 tes constructive dialogue between policymakers\, professionals and those w
 ho are impacted by disabilities. An informed constituency is a more effect
 ive and engaged constituency\,' Smith added. \n\nThe seminar will provide 
 leadership and advocacy training regarding systems of services and support
 s to individuals with disabilities and their families\, including philosop
 hical tenets\, current systems\, opportunities for leadership\, systems ch
 ange strategies\, and planning. \n\nParticipants will receive support at t
 he seminar and beyond on developing advocacy plans\, building and supporti
 ng state and local coalitions with the goal of improving services and syst
 ems for individuals with disabilities. \n\nSpeakers include Mark Smith\, E
 ric Evans\, Brad Meurrens\, Edison McDonald\, Janet Miller\, Jenn Miller\,
  Jennifer Hansen and Kathy Hoell.
