How We Are Funded

Federally funded program to provide individual and systems advocacy to secure assistive technology devices and services for people with disabilities. FY 2019 Grant Award: $50,000.

Federally funded program to provide advocacy and assistance to any beneficiary of Social Security who is trying to secure or regain employment and to otherwise protect their rights under the law. FY 2019 Grant Award: $100,000.

Federally funded program to protect and advocate for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $404,556.

Federally funded program to protect and advocate for the rights of people with mental illness and investigate reports of abuse and neglect in facilities that care for or treat individuals with mental illness. FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $428,000.

Federally funded program to protect and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities who would not be eligible for the PADD or PAIMI programs. FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $171,598.

Federally funded program to provide advocacy assistance to people who experience a traumatic brain injury. FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $50,000.

Federally funded program to establish, expand, and improve access to and participation in the election process by people with disabilities. FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $98,209.

Federally funded to help protect the rights of beneficiaries of Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).  FY 2019 Federal Grant Award: $103,685.

State and federal funds are integrated to carry out a broad range of other advocacy approaches to promote empowerment of people with disabilities within Nebraska. FY 2019 Contract Award: $484,750 ($340,000 earmarked to pass through Disability Rights Nebraska to provide direct funding of locally operated and controlled Citizen Advocacy offices.)

Disability Rights Nebraska also utilizes contributions and community-based grants.
