108th Legislature - 2nd Session
Nebraska's 108th Legislature began on January 3, 2024. As bills are introduced, Disability Rights Nebraska analyzes and researches proposed legislation, outlines priorities in our bill chart, and educates policymakers and the public on how legislation will affect people with disabilities.
We address “High Priority” bills with testimony, personal contacts and education, and “Medium Priority” bills with letters, often in conjunction with other disability rights partners. Though legislation identified in the "Monitoring" category is followed closely, Disability Rights Nebraska does not take action or voice a position on these bills.

Legislative News
The Health and Human Services Committee considered a bill Feb. 18 that would require an annual joint legislative hearing to review the progress of community integration for individuals with disabilities in Nebraska.
The Judiciary Committee heard testimony Jan. 29 on two proposals that seek to improve Nebraska’s guardianship system.
The Urban Affairs Committee heard testimony Jan. 27 on two measures intended to ensure that Nebraskans with mobility, hearing or vision impairments can find homes that meet their needs.
